Bobby builds for a living. So you can actually call him Bobby the builder!
He believes that in order to build better lives, it starts with building better houses, with a concrete foundation made better by plastics.
What is your idea/startup in one sentence?
Upcycling plastic waste to build houses.
What made you interested in social impact?
It was when I made this trip down to this Southeast Asian country. That was when I saw firsthand how serious things actually are, in terms of plastic pollution and poverty. That made me want to do something about it, and that’s why I started Circular Blueprint.
Can you share your biggest challenge?
I was a victim of bullying for 8 years. Back then, the biggest challenge was staying alive. Not in terms of physically, but more in terms of mentally. Every single day, I have to find a reason to get myself out of the bed, and go to school. I’m very glad that those times are over.
I’m not happy that those things happened to me, but I’m happy that because of those things, it made me who I am today: someone who is empathetic and more sensitive and someone that can care and love more. I’m happy that those things happened for me.
What is a lesson you would like to share with aspiring entrepreneurs?
Self-awareness. You have to have self-awareness, more so than anyone else.
What is success to you?
I’m a very simple person. Success is when I’m able to impact someone else’s life. When I’m able to do that, and see it, it would really mean everything to me.
