Datanam is one of the startups in our Innovation Programme 2020. We talked to the YSI SEA Fellow behind it: Danial Fahmi Zamberi.
What is your idea/startup?
Datanam is a precision vertical farming solution that is able to fit any size, within any urban setting. Datanam is sustainable, energy efficient and resource efficient, for a better future.
Can you share your biggest challenge?
There are a lot of challenges when it comes to something new. I believe that the biggest challenge is educating the public when it comes to such a new system; correcting their perception, making sure that they understand what kind of values we want to deliver. Itβs just different. For example, in Malaysia, growing vegetables in a container, or in a warehouse, seems to be something new.
What is a lesson you would like to share with aspiring entrepreneurs?
Be prepared to do anything. Entrepreneurship will beat you at different places, it will make you uncomfortable at certain times, but you have to trust the process. The process will let you grow into the person you intended to be.
What is success to you?
Personally, success is about achieving balance; balance in the business that you have, and balance in your personal life. If these two aspects are balanced, you will definitely attain success in anything.
